Our Soque River Watershed

The Soque River Watershed Association works to protect and restore the Soque River, its tributaries and watershed.

The Soque River Watershed is the "Heart of Habersham County." It is completely contained within Habersham County and is the central geographic feature of the area. No other county in Georgia possess a watershed the size of the Soque from its headwaters to Mouth.

The Soque is a distinct resource in the nation. It's location, size, geology and demographics contribute to the quality of drinking water for millions downstream. The citizens of Habersham County have a unique opportunity to be a "future" model for watershed protection.
