Horseback Riding
The landscape within the watershed is excellent for horseback riding.  Opportunities to do so are available.  Approximately 17,524 acres or 17% of the Soque River Watershed rests within the Chattahoochee National Forest, providing tremendous recreational opportunities.  Almost all of these National Forest lands are within the headwaters of the Soque Watershed. Though some of these areas are commonly known and easy to find, most are remote and challenging.

  • Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest  If you can get to a numbered forest service road, you can ride on it.  Try these sub-basins:   Deep Creek, Headwaters, Raper Creek, Shoal Creek.  www.fs.fed.us/conf/
