the Soque River Sections & Tributaries

Beaverdam Creek (area=14.6 mi2)
This tributary drains the lower Soque and is representative of a Piedmont drainage. Sand and silt are common throughout this sub-basin. The creek forms the boundary between Clarkesville Elementary School’s soccer fields and the Habersham Electric Membership Cooperative (HEMC) facility. Highway 115 to Cleveland crosses Beaverdam at this location.

Much of this area is agricultural with forested headwaters on Sutton Mill Creek.  It contains a large commercial vineyard.
